the discreet charm of indie movies

I just finished watching The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie. I noticed it on Jeffrey's list of favorites and could not resist a film with such a wonderful title. What I loved the most is the absurd and mocking nature the entire film takes. I think this is a film that probably gets better and better every time you watch it because you catch more of the jokes, more of the absurdity and more of the satire.

Lisa, I thought The Exploding Girl was really good and that the young actress was particularly great. As for the indies I listed, don't feel you have to watch them just because I mentioned them. They are just some of my most recent favorites in the "indie" category.  I think the one that I would be most interested in hearing an opinion on is Tiny Furniture but it isn't available yet.

I think that I will probably watch Broken English later tonight (how nice it is to be on break). John and Brandon have been working on introducing me to movies through directors and Cassavetes is one who I am just starting to get into. I would be really interested to watch a movie directed by his daughter.
