Alright, sorry for tarrying. I'll blame my inability to focus on more than one task at a time.
I've only had the chance to watch two movies since my last post. However, I have been using this site to watch episodes of Star Trek: TNG the last two days. It has been killing my productivity. Season 6 has some awesome episodes. I'm currently writing this at Starbucks. I haven't ordered anything yet. In honor of Capt. Picard I think that I will getting an Earl Grey, hot.
After watching The Ghost Writer I am having a hard time figuring out exactly why it made your Top Ten list, Brandon. I found it to be predictable, a bit trite and not that well acted. It is a shame because I like all the actors in it too. I still think Ewan McGregor did his best work in Long Way Round. The sequel, Long Way Down, was pretty good too. Oh wait, those were documentaries.
I also watched Please Give. This movie popped up on a few lists at the end of the year and the premise sounded promising. I don't really have much to say about it other than that it was an enjoyable indie comedy that I do not regret watching. It managed to be both depressing and uplifting at the same time.
Brandon, I love Cronenberg's adaptation of Naked Lunch. I have not seen it in at least five years, but now I really have a desire to watch it again. If you get a chance, the commentary on the DVD is really, really interesting. I would highly suggest that anyone who enjoys the film watches it with that turned on.
Jason, Cube is great. I haven't seen any of the sequels but if they are available on NWI I might just watch them instead of Star Trek tonight.
I know, I know, I didn't talk about Lost in Translation. I am meeting someone here at Starbucks and don't want to get started and then have to stop. That's a valid excuse, right? Here, enjoy this: Francis Ford Coppola - On Risk, Money, Craft & Collaboration from 99%.
