Ok, confession time. After Brandon mentioned that the Tree of Life trailer would be playing before Black Swan, I became really pissed that the movie is not showing around here and found myself searching youtube. Of course, there is a crappy cam-shot version of the trailer from a screening this weekend. After about 20 seconds of trying not to watch it, I caved. And, well, I got goosebumps. I actually have Stalker at home from Netflix and was planning to watch it today. However, I may just end up watching The New World instead. I've seen The New World 5 times this year. I typically watch it in between semesters and since I have both winter and summer classes, I end up seeing it a lot. This works out well because I'm technically done with classes until January now.
John, I saw The Fall as soon as it was available on DVD. It's a movie that I really like but have a hard time finding other people who have seen it, which is a shame. The Uncle Jack short is by the same film makers and actors who did Ink, which is another movie that I really loved but no one else seems to have seen. It is available on both Hulu and Netflix Instant if you get a chance. I'd love to hear what others have to say about it. As for Community, the episode I posted isn't one of the best. It just happens to be the one from this week. I realized after posting it that unless you really understood the characters and their "role" in the group and show (they make it very clear they all stand for a certain "type" of character), it probably was not that great. I still think it's one of the best sitcom type shows on TV right now.
I don't know of which Arcade Fire music video you and Brandon are talking about, but I loved their whole Wilderness Downtown interactive thing.
Oh, and Brandon, I agree that Boardwalk Empire is the best. I used to have this problem where I could only see Steve Buscemi as he was in (the awesome) movie Ghost World. However, that went away after about two episodes. I'm really excited to see where this show is going to go. Just seeing Jimmy evolve over the series has been great.
I'm going to start rectifying my lack of classic movie knowledge this week. Suggestions for some that I must watch? I definitely want to catch up on both Tarkovsky and Truffaut since they've been mentioned recently.

Chuck Klosterman reveals why we seem to be so interested in zombies lately.
This is our collective fear projection: that we will be consumed. Zombies are like the Internet and the media and every conversation we don’t want to have. All of it comes at us endlessly (and thoughtlessly), and — if we surrender — we will be overtaken and absorbed. Yet this war is manageable, if not necessarily winnable. As long we keep deleting whatever’s directly in front of us, we survive. We live to eliminate the zombies of tomorrow. We are able to remain human, at least for the time being. Our enemy is relentless and colossal, but also uncreative and stupid.------
Battling zombies is like battling anything ... or everything.
