10 Days of Christmas: Slacker and The Seventh Seal

And I'm behind.  I did not get a chance to watch a movie from John's list today.  Oh well.  Here's is a bit about the last two films that I did see.

I'll begin with Slacker because I am a big Linklater fan.  This was one of the movies on the list that I had already seen, but this little project gave me a reason to revisit it.  Even though this film came out when I was only 7 years old, I still consider myself part of the generation Linklater is portraying.  Though I haven't seen it as many times as I've seen Waking Life and Before Sunrise, I appreciate everything about this film and what it does.


For some reason, The Seventh Seal just did not click for me.  I cannot really figure out why.  It's not even that I found the premise (guy playing chess against death) to be stupid or anything.  I just couldn't dig it, which is odd because I was looking forward to this movie a lot.  I plan to watch some other Bergman films soon.
